Feeling Accomplished...

Letters...

Last night I finally sat down and wrote out 6 letters to friends and family that I've been meaning to write for awhile now.  I then stamped and addressed them the good ol' fashioned way and saw them off in the mail this afternoon. :) Made me feel very accomplished to finally start getting caught up on that. I think this quote has it right, "What a lot we lost when we stopped writing letters. You can't reread a phone call." ~Liz Carpenter  Don't get me wrong, I love the convenience of texts, phone calls, and e-mails.  It's a great way to keep in touch even with busy lifestyles; but a personalized note in the mail...little can beat the *specialness* of that. :)

I don't save a lot of things...but I do save all my letters. :)  From: Katie Vogel, Tiffany Davis, Loran Polder and Abby Hilton. :)

Although writing letters to close friends is one of my favorite things to do...somehow it always ends up getting put at the bottom of my to-do list. I wish it wouldn't though...letters and words of encouragement to others can be so powerful. God has used cards and letters from my friends and family so many times in life to encourage and strengthen my heart. <3 I pray God can use me the same way.  I don't ever want to regret not saying something or telling my family how much I care about them. And usually, for me...a card is an easier way for me to say it.

Before It Is Too Late
If you’ve a tender message or a loving word to say,
Don’t wait till you forget it, but whisper it today.
We live but in the present, the future is unknown-
Tomorrow is a mystery, today is all our own.
The tender words unspoken, the letter never sent,
The long forgotten messages, the wealth of love unspent-
For these, some hearts are breaking, for these some loved ones wait,
So show them that you care for them before it is too late.

Hebrews 10:24-25
“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."

If you haven't told your family today that you love them...don't forget too. Life is short. And if you haven't written them a note telling them what you appreciate about them in awhile...maybe take a few moments to do that now. You'll never regret doing it...but you may regret not doing it.

Until next time, keep smiling and living hard for Jesus! :)

Love, Monica
